Handed in the hard copy of my assignment 1 minute before the deadline, I felt like a zombie on my way back to my room, that feeling of soulless, along with the feeling of "hmmmmm.. interesting"
I never knew that the beginning of my MUN term can be so meaningful as this particular SOCHUM is the most hilarious and yet most efficient committee I have ever chaired.
" You can never teach one to become Jewish"
But on the other hand, you can never teach one to become a SOCHUMer in UCLMUN 2014 not only because it was in the past tense, also because you can never replicate such delicate and enjoyable moment of this committee.
Before this conference, I can never imagine that delegates whom have not yet spoken in a MC can instantly raise their placards up right after I have told them to do so.
Before this conference, I can never imagine DPRK being so Democratic and yet dictatorial as she did not only suggested a democratic vote amongst her bloc members, but also tell them exactly what to do.
Before this conference, I can never imagine that USA being so serious from her facial expression to her speech as I will be convinced that she was actually the delegate of USA if I was not in the committee. (Sorry guys but only we chairs can see this :P)
Before this conference, I can never imagine that China can be so chinese apart from the accent, and start condemning other countries for doing naughty things. Also I was very mad at the country allocation as there must be some error / irony in assigning a Jesus as the delegate of China. Come on, christianity in China? You have got to be kidding me. Jorge de Jesus
Before this conference, I can never imagine that what happens in our committee can actually cause a difference in the real world, as our Twitter feed about Rwanda's speech was being retweeted by the genuine Rwandan news.
Before this conference, I can never imagine having LIMUN boss of mine as a delegate.
Before this conference, I can never imagine someone being so bad in keeping his promises and yet I am so happy that he failed to do so.
and because of this person also, I don't think I will be trusting anyone from now on about their claim to quit the MUN because this has already been proven impossible.
Before this conference, I can never tell anyone that other London university apart from Imperial is a maze, now that I think I can add UCL to the list. But again, I shall thank UCL MUN 2014 the entire UCLMUN secretariat for hosting this MUN fiesta, of which also consists of quite a lot of MUN reunions. Oh, and also for their effort in keeping everyone from getting lost.
And certainly before this conference, I never know that we MUN debates can be so musical that children have chosen to symphonise by singing and producing other funny sound effect.
Oh, what a beginning.
